The main types of forged ball and rolling ball are high carbon CR-Mo Alloy and medium and low carbon manganese alloy. Improving the hardness of low chromium alloy ball is the most effective way to reduce abrasion. The carbon content of the forged ball is generally around 1%, and chromium is less than 2%. Low chromium casting ball hardness generally should be around HRC45, should be as far as possible to improve the low chromium cast iron ball hardness, in order to improve economic efficiency.

The diameter of the grinding ball is generally not greater than φ60mm. Cement and mine shall be graded according to the diameter of the mill, the surface shape of the liner and the size of the incoming material. The principle of gradation is only one: as far as possible to reduce the diameter of the ball mill, because the ball mill is grinding machine, if it is to bear the crushing effect even if only a small part of it is very inappropriate.

In addition, steel ball wear is also affected by the speed of the mill, with the increasing speed of grinding machine, steel ball movement from diarrhea to drop, when the speed is certain, there is a maximum diligence rate, and then the mill speed increase, will make the steel ball centrifugal movement, not to grinding effect.
